Online Speech Therapists Build Relationships with Schools

Posted by TinyEYE |

Those who bring sunshine into the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves.

~James M. Barrie

Hi Everyone,

With a pot of herbal tea at my side, I entered my online office and waited for my first student to arrive. Within moments, the school’s E-helper appeared with a smile. She confirmed the attendance for the day and shared that the students have been enjoying their extra practice time with her and their TinyEYE Backpack activities. She announced that Kaitlyn was ready to start her session. Hooray! Kaitlyn is a super star when it comes to online speech therapy. Together, we hopped through our adventures and she became the expert in her skill of the day. She updated me on her new puppies and told me she helped her mom learn how to say “Rocky Road Ice-cream” with her new “R” sound. We gave each other a virtual high five before the second student took her spot. I sipped my tea and started the next adventure. By the time my pot of tea was empty on this busy day, twelve children in three schools met me in my online office. I felt replenished and my cheeks hurt from smiling so much.

TinyEYE is committed to building proactive relationships with our schools. We value partnering with the staff to support the students. It is a myth that there is no way to build rapport with staff and students when you are not physically in the same room. Our online therapy rooms are merely a medium through which we connect with people. We consistently connect face to face; ear to ear to ear; heart to heart.

So grateful for our E-helpers, so proud of our students, so thrilled at the skills and spark of our online therapists, it is my pleasure to share the following correspondence. An E-helper sent it to a TinyEYE online speech therapist:

“Thanks so much for all you have done for our students this year! We were blessed to have you as our on-line speech therapist this year. You are awesome at what you do and the students will miss you heaps. You have a significant impact on the effort that they put into their speech because of your enthusiasm for what you do. Thanks so much!! If you have a say in which schools you get next year, please ask for us!! We will definitely be requesting to have you provide us with our sessions next year!! Thanks so much! :)”

It is our privilege to serve!

All the best to you,
