“Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened.”
The spirit of learning was wonderful at this year’s CASLPA conference. It is incredibly motivating to connect with colleagues who strive to make a difference for the people they serve and for our profession. From this conference, thousands and thousands of our clients will now benefit in some way because, as members of our profession, we are life learners. We will go onto to share our light.
Incredible thought and effort went into the awards ceremony, where a number of well deserving people accepted their recognition for a job well done. Throughout the days, there were snack breaks...at no cost! What a great way to meet new people while replenishing my energy. Likewise, I feel rejuvenated after attending a number of informative and inspiring sessions – can’t wait to implement several of the things I learned.
To wrap up my conference experience, I presented a session on improving access to services via telepractice. I would really like to keep the conversation going! With evolving technology, there is so much we can do to support our communities and our colleagues. Some of the participants asked if I could post parts of the presentation. Today, I have included the section that summarizes ideas about integrating telepractice into your practice. Please do not hesitate to connect with me if you would like me to elaborate on any of the information.
