5 Solutions for Special Education Directors Seeking Speech Therapy

Hello Everyone,

Just as I am spreading holiday cheer, I am spreading the word that TinyEYE is ready to bring quality speech and language services to your students. Special Education Directors often hold the tremendous responsibility of being accountable to all students who need specialized services. What happens when there is limited access to professionals who can deliver the mandated service? As a Speech-Language Pathologist, I have witnessed children transform from caterpillars to butterflies with the help of an effective, available team. On my mission to giving all children equal access to quality speech therapy services, I would like to learn more about your needs and share some information with you about a solution. Do you hear your voice in the statements below?

  • I have a SLP, but she is so busy there is no time for therapy for these kids.
  • SLP? We haven’t had a SLP here in years! We haven’t even received a resume…
  • We could have hired a new grad or an assistant, but we did not have a SLP to supervise the practicum and programs.
  • The cost of the therapy program is a barrier. The time and money for our SLP’s travel between schools, let alone the price of materials and photocopying makes the program difficult to sustain.

I hear you. TinyEYE’s SLPs specialize in providing on-line speech therapy and are ready to serve your students (with no minimum or maximum amount of students). For instance, here are some ideas for reaching the need in your schools:

1. Collaborative Service

TinyEYE’s SLP can partner with your in-house SLP to reach more students. For instance, your in-house SLP could focus on specific caseload responsibilities (such as assessments; consultations; and children with more severe needs), while TinyEYE provides direct therapy to children with mild to moderate articulation and language needs.

2. Targeted Service

Some school districts have asked us to help all the children, across the school district, who require articulation therapy. Others have requested that we work with all the children from kindergarten through grade two on language development. Likewise, we are working with a school district to support all of the children who speak Spanish as their first language. We have matched our Spanish speaking SLP with the district. Regardless of the focus, we are able to move from school to school with the click of a button, while helping your students develop age appropriate skills.

3. Comprehensive Service

It has been our privilege to visit many of the communities that we serve to complete assessments and programming. Next, we provide consistent therapy services via our on-line offices to continue the care and achieve the goals that were identified during the assessment.

4. Free On-line Activities for your In-House SLP

If you would like to support the SLP who is presently serving your students, TinyEYE offers free, on-line, interactive therapy activities that can be used during therapy sessions or accessed at home for extra practice. This also helps to reduce your school’s costs for therapy materials and photocopying. Contact us for your password.

5. Supervision and Mentorship

TinyEYE has created supervision software that enables the TinyEYE SLP to connect face to face with your SLP for coaching, observations, and other forms of support. We have helped both SLPs and SLP assistants complete the requirements of their clinical fellowship year (CFY) and practicum. Mentorship is a tremendous way to build capacity at your school!

TinyEYE’s SLPs serve schools internationally and it would be our privilege to serve you, too. We are proud to provide productive, budget friendly services that make a wonderful difference to your students. Contact TinyEYE for a tour of your virtual office and therapy room. See what it would be like for your students to have a TinyEYE Day!
