There is some very new research available that supports telepractice as an effective medium for increasing access to quality services. Steve Hards from Telecare Aware forwarded this recent study on the efficacy of treating stuttering via telehealth. The results were shared in COMD News: Events and Research in Speech, Language, and Hearing Disorders.
The results were as follows:
“Conclusions & Implications: The results provide evidence to support the use of the Camperdown Program delivered by telehealth as an alternate to the face-to-face treatment delivery of this programme for adults who stutter. Such a model will increase accessibility to this evidence-based treatment for adults currently isolated from treatment services.”
