Giving is the Gift

The love we give away is the only love we keep. ~ Elbert Hubbard

Hello Everyone,

I wish all of you a replenishing and peaceful holiday season. This time of year, our hearts seem to grow a little bigger. It feels extra wonderful to give a little more. Alternatively, it hurts a little more when you feel like you cannot give extra. May you have an abundance of blessings and may you know the blessing that you are to those around you.

Have you ever heard of Secret Santa - such as when a person or group collaborates to give something special to someone else? Well - this week I learned that giving is contagious.

My colleagues at the head office decided they wanted to warm up some children this frosty winter. It has been our privilege to partner with northern communities and to meet the precious children who live there. Popping into a department store to pick up some warm clothes is not always a reality for them. With this in mind, the TinyEYE crew started a small winter warm up collection. Before we knew it, individuals and groups throughout the entire building were dropping off hats, scarves, mitts, coats and other warm items. The result:

1100 little bodies will feel warmer this winter
I have to say that my eyes became watery and my heart warmed up when the team told me about this. Finally, in my life I do realize that "it is giving that is the gift".
I included a picture of the team after they put out a winter clothing drive box for kids up north - still not knowing how hearts would cause it to overflow!

I also wanted to share two links that I enjoy. One is a Christmas feel good story and the other is all about making Christmas magical for the kids.
